Our Services
I am Geek serves small to medium-sized businesses and high-end residential clients across the Nashville area. Whether you need a professionally-installed UniFi network, ongoing IT support, or expert help with the technology in your home, we have you covered. Every service comes with the same commitment: do the work right, communicate clearly, and stand behind it.
Ubiquiti UniFi Network Installation
This is the work we love most. We design, install, and maintain professional UniFi networks for residential and business clients — from a single access point upgrade to a full enterprise-grade build with rack-mounted gear, structured cabling, and managed switches. Our installations are clean, documented, and built to last.
What’s included
- Site survey and Wi-Fi heat-mapping for optimal access point placement
- Structured cable runs (Cat6/Cat6a) and termination
- Server rack and patch panel installation
- UniFi Cloud Gateway, switches, and access point configuration
- VLAN segmentation for guest networks, IoT devices, and security cameras
- UniFi Protect camera systems with no monthly fees
- Remote monitoring and proactive alerts for downtime, threats, and updates
Best for: Homeowners frustrated with mesh-system limitations, small businesses outgrowing consumer routers, and anyone who wants enterprise reliability without the enterprise IT department.
Business IT Support & Managed Networks
Small and medium-sized businesses need reliable technology, but rarely need a full-time IT department. We provide ongoing support that keeps your network secure, your computers running smoothly, and your team productive. We monitor what matters and reach out before you have to call us.
What’s included
- Proactive network monitoring with downtime and threat alerts
- Windows and macOS computer support — setup, troubleshooting, migration
- Security updates and patch management for every endpoint
- Backup configuration and recovery testing
- Email security review (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and phishing defense
- Vendor coordination — ISP issues, software licensing, hardware procurement
- Onsite and remote support — typical response same business day
Best for: Businesses with 5–50 employees who want responsive, personal IT support without the overhead of a managed service provider contract.
High-End Residential Technology
A larger home is a small business when it comes to networking. Whole-home Wi-Fi that actually reaches the back patio, smart home devices that stay connected, security cameras that just work — the same enterprise-grade approach we bring to businesses, applied to the home you live in every day.
What’s included
- Whole-home Wi-Fi design with proper access point coverage
- Wired backbone for streaming devices, game consoles, and home offices
- Smart home device segmentation (IoT VLAN) so a smart bulb can’t expose your laptop
- UniFi Protect home camera systems
- Home network security — firewall configuration, threat blocking, content filtering for kids’ devices
- Computer setup and family-tech support
- Quiet, clean installs that respect your home
Best for: Homeowners with multi-floor or larger homes, work-from-home professionals, families with smart-home devices, and anyone tired of restarting their router weekly.
Computer Setup, Troubleshooting & AV
Sometimes you just need someone competent to fix the problem. We handle the everyday technology jobs that keep getting put off — the new laptop that needs setup, the desktop that has been slow for months, the TV that needs to be mounted before company arrives.
What’s included
- New computer setup and migration from old machines (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Performance tuning and malware cleanup
- Software installation, account setup, printer configuration
- TV mounting and AV system integration
- Audio system installation and tuning
- One-on-one training — we explain what we did, in plain English
Best for: Anyone who needs a specific job done well by someone who shows up on time and explains things without condescension.
Electronics Recycling
Got a closet, basement, or storage room full of old technology you can’t bring yourself to throw in the trash — and shouldn’t? We take it off your hands. We collect and responsibly recycle computers, monitors, phones, printers, networking gear, and most other electronics. Hard drives are wiped or physically destroyed before recycling, so your data goes with us, not with the device.
What’s included
- Desktops, laptops, servers, and tablets
- Monitors, displays, and TVs
- Cell phones
- Printers, scanners, and all-in-one units
- Networking equipment — routers, switches, access points, modems
- Cables, peripherals, keyboards, mice, and accessories
- Secure data destruction — drives wiped to DoD standards or physically destroyed on request
- Onsite pickup available for business clients and larger residential cleanouts
Best for: Homeowners doing a tech cleanout, businesses upgrading or downsizing equipment, and anyone who wants their old gear handled properly instead of ending up in a landfill or a stranger’s hands.

How We Work
Every project follows a simple three-step process: Consult (we listen to what you need), Plan (we design the right solution for your goals and budget), and Execute (we do the work to a standard we are proud to put our name on). You will always know what we are doing, why, and what it will cost before we start.
